Harry potter trailer questions

1. What aspects of the film are emphasised in the trailer? Why do you think this is?

The main sapect of this trailer amphasised in my veiw is the narrative of this sequel. also to make people aware of the release date of the film . this is shown in the trailer as non diegetic sound (voice overs) from different character makes the narrative very clear and sets up the film. Promoting the film is done through the showing of the date of release .

2. How is the genre of the film established in the film frailer? (refer to the mise-en-scene including editing and sound in addition to visual/symbolic/written iconographies).

I think the main way the genre of the film is shown is through the fast moving trailer in general. This fast moving trailer trailer shows there is action in the film. Another big factor that adds to the genre is the costumes as they are all dressed "wizardary" clothes and are shown flying around on broomsticks.

3. From the information you see/hearon screen only (and not from prior knowledge) who are the target audience of this film and how do you know?

The target audience at first glance seem to be teenagers as the main actors are teenagers themselves and the whole film is based on magic and wizardary and is not normally associated with anyone older than teenagers.

4. How does the trailer show that this film is worth coming to see?

The film trailer through its high graphic and intense scences automatically makes the audience want to come and see the film.

5. Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoenix is obviously a sequal. The trailer must ensure the potential audience can understand the film even if they haven't seen the first one. How does it do this?

Through the main characters voice over during the trailers the narrative is clear and sets up this film for another adventure. As this is a sequel the makers had to make the narrative very clear and do this very well by showing scences of darkness and throw in a glimpse of romance which has not been efore in harry potter films.

6. Trailers are not 'mini-films'. They are a genre in their own right and have their own set of easily recognisable conventions. List the conventions of film trailers - you should be looking at a list of at least 5 points and up to 10! (1 or 2 is NOT enough).

1. Wizards

2. People flying around

3. Magic

4. Romance (expected in teen films)

5. Conflict
